McFadziens Pharmacy provides the following services:

• Dispensing prescription medicine. Bring in your prescription written by your doctor, dentist, midwife or optometrist.
• We provide professional advice about the medicines you have been prescribed.
• We maintain a medication profile, keeping a list of medicines you are taking in our files.
• For your safety, we have an obligation to report any significant findings about your medicine to your prescriber – the doctor, dentist, midwife or optometrist who wrote the prescription. This will be done in a confidential manner.

We supply pharmaceutical and medicinal products and the information you may require to optimise their use. Prescriptions from NZ registered health professionals will be charged in accordance with the current pharmaceutical schedule. All charges not covered by the Government will be charged to the purchaser. The staff at McFadziens Pharmacy will ensure that medicines are suitable for their intended use and if required, will clarify the intentions of the prescriber. We will tell you about any additional charges other than those agreed in our contract.

Other pharmacy services:

• Unit dose dispensing – we use Medico paks (fees may apply)
• Self care information cards – these are provided free of charge
• Medicine Use Review – we have an accredited pharmacist on staff who will help you understand your medication and ensure adherence to regular dosing
• Pharmaceutical Reviews – we have an accredited clinical pharmacist who will ensure you obtain optimum medicine related outcomes – an appointment is necessary and a charge may apply.
• Diabetes service of meters– we can clean, check, replace batteries and download data meter readings for you
• ECP – our pharmacists are accredited to provide emergency contraceptive advice.

A pharmacist is in the pharmacy at all times. We employ qualified technicians and our dispensing services are always supervised by a pharmacist. Please ask if you’d like to discuss your medicines with our pharmacist. Our pharmacist’s Annual Practising Certificates are displayed in the dispensary area of our pharmacy.
